Ray Bolouri

Hi, I am Ray Bolouri and I am interested in using technology to help make time consuming tasks easier and more efficient.

I am Ray Bolouri. From a very young age, I always have been interested in technolgoy and computers .  While in high school, I started programming on Commodore 64, re-writing the game 'pong' in an afternoon, and having to re-write it each time the computer was turned on/off since the machine had no permenant storage device.   At age 16, while in college, my friends and I wrote a dental billing software  which was later bought by a company that has since made it the staple of dental practices worldwide and has over 90% of the market share.   In mid-90’s, my business development VP at the time and I of his devised a radical marketing plan that helped build the 6th largest ISP in the U.S. and over the first decade of 2000 I focused my efforts on creating technology solutions which helped solve very complex problems such as weather pattern prediction. For the past two years, my focus has been communication.  Creating value for individuals and businesses by enabling them to communicate better.  The current journey has been challenging and interesting (to say the least).   Now my team and I have created some truly innovative systems to improve cutomer experiecne, increase service efficiency in organization and enhance how consumers and businesses, connect, interact and communicate.

President at ConnecTech, Inc.

February 1992 - October 1999

As a government contractor and system integrator, ConnecTech provided 1000's of custom designed systems to FEMA, DEA, DoD, and states and counties across the nation. However, ConnecTech's specialty was to design and build unique and effective solutions for complex problems. In 1994, we designed and built the fastest ever parallel processing system of that time, for SAIC, one of our tier one clients. The system featured over 140 Intel processors and was optimized to take advantage of a proprietary custom multiplexing parallel computing architecture to process complex mathematical task. The performance of this system exceeded the then fastest Super Computer - CARY X-MP. In 1996 and 1997, it setup the very first 210 miles wireless WAN network in Zimbabwe and also designed and implemented the system, hardware, and software for the very first wholly Zimbabwean owned International Bank, First Bank, empowering the bank with the most technologically advanced system and the first bank ever to utilize 100% smart cards for it's clients.

Vice President at NexGen

January 1989 - August 1992

At NexGen, my two partners and I, developed custom software for a variety of clients. At NexGen, we also designed and build a comprehensive dental office billing software which later was bought by Dentrix Dentrix is currently the largest provider of dental billing software in the world, owning approximately over 90% of the market share in that industry. Another unique application was designing a compression software that proved to be ahead of its time. The custom compression algorithm was later integrated for a screen saver named ArtScreens. ArtScreens had obtained the usage rights to some 40 historical paintings by famous artists such as Picasso, Degas, and others and wanted these images to be displayed on computers worldwide. Since, at the time, there were no large storage media such as CDs or DVDs, this custom designed compression allowed for 40 high quality, high resolution images to be stored on only 4 floppy diskettes (an achievement at the time - performing 3.5X better than any other commercial solution out in the market at the time) and thus making the hit venture, very profitable.
